Leverage 1:100 for Experienced Retail Clients

Poland’s financial regulatory authority, Komisja Nadzoru Finansowego (KNF), introduced a classification for experienced retail clients, offering the possibility of accessing leverage up to 1:100 for certain trading instruments. This opportunity is available for Poland residents who have requisite experience and knowledge of derivatives, demonstrated by relevant education or appropriate professional certificates.

Requisite Experience (one of the following in the past 24 months)

  • Completing a minimum of 10 transactions in CFDs each with a nominal value of at least the equivalent in Polish zloty of EUR 50,000 within a quarter for at least four quarters;
  • Completing a minimum of 50 transactions in CFDs each with a nominal value of at least the equivalent in Polish zloty of EUR 10,000 per quarter for at least four quarters;
  • Completing a minimum of 40 transactions in CFDs within a quarter for at least four quarters, with the total nominal value of all transactions in the 24-month period being at least the equivalent in Polish zloty of EUR 2,000,000.

Knowledge of Derivatives (any of the following)

  • Holding professional certificates (CFA, FRM, PRM, ACI, Investment Advisor (DI), Securities Broker (MPW, etc.)) or a specialist degree;
  • Completing at least 50 hours of derivatives training in the last 12 months, including CFDs, with certification or confirmation from a recognized organizer;
  • One year of professional experience in a role requiring expertise in CFDs or other derivatives.
